Mike completes the Wolf Run for charity

Finally!

After delays of a little over two years, Mike has finally completed the Wolf Run in aid of the charity ‘Families Need Fathers’.

Originally planned for April 2020, lockdowns saw the event delayed three times over the years, but we’re delighted to say that it finally went ahead on 23rd April 2022.

It’s called the ‘Wolf Run’ because ‘Wolf’ stands for Woods, Obstacles, Lakes and Fields. It’s a ten kilometre (6 ¼) mile obstacle course in which the runners have to wade through thick mud, crawl through tunnels, climb over cargo nets and swim down a river or lake, to mention just a few of the things they have to negotiate.

Mike, a dentist in Loughborough and co-owner of Peacock Dental Spa managed to complete the course, despite suffering from a severe case of ‘Lockdown Body’. He tries to run an event for charity (or in his words – ‘do something stupid’) every year, and this time we managed to raise a whopping £570, plus £108 in gift aid.

Families Need Fathers supports targeted parents and grandparents of Parental Alienation. This is where one parent, by way of psychological manipulation, turns their children against the other parent, usually during a divorce.

If you wish to donate to this cause, Mike’s Just Giving page will be open until July 2022. It can be found by clicking here.
